Almost two years ago, I posted about updates happening at Park Road Shopping Center. At the time, Cantina 1511 was moving there; seafood eatery Rock Salt, makeup bar La La Girl and gelato spot Va da Vie were moving in; Omega Sports was relocating to the old Rack Room Shoes space; and Piedmont Music Center and Park Road Quick Cleaners were closing. And now even more is going on there!
The biggest thing going on is the addition of the J. Crew Mercantile store. Word on the street is that this store will sell the same clothes as the J. Crew Factory stores, but this is only the second store of its type. (The other is in Dallas, TX.) It’ll be in the old Toys & Co spot, and it will make the center more of a shopping destination.
But they’re not the only new game around Park Road Shopping Center. Check out some of the other new hot spots there…and rumored hot spots coming:
- Chopt – A New York-based fast-casual restaurant that specializes in salads.
- CO – A pan-Asian/Vietnamese restaurant with locations existing in Savannah, Charleston and Myrtle Beach.
- Juice Bar – A Nashville-based chain slated to open this month.
- Amelie’s – The locally-owned bakery is rumored to be opening a new location in the newly-named “Backlot”.
As I mentioned in my last post about this area, there are some great neighborhoods and fantastic values on homes within walking or short driving distance of Park Road Shopping Center. Colonial Village, Sedgefield and Madison Park are taking off again. The Montford district is one of the hottest areas in Charlotte right now. Myers Park, Dilworth, SouthEnd and SouthPark are always perennial favorites. Let’s explore these areas together and find your dream home close to this revamped shopping center so almost everything you need is convenient!
