About Second Ward
Second Ward, Charlotte’s “Government District”, lies directly to the south of the intersection of Trade and Tryon, in the quadrant bounded by South Tryon on the northwest and East Trade on the northeast.
Second Ward is home to some of Charlotte’s well-known sites to see: the NASCAR Hall of Fame, the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Art+Culture, EpiCentre, the Charlotte Convention Center, The Victorian Gothic-style St. Peter’s Catholic Church, and The Green, a downtown mini-park.
While this area isn’t really known for being “residential” at this time, housing options are on the way as part of the neighborhood’s master plan.
