Halloween is just over a week away, and there are a lot of great Halloween events in Charlotte those looking for a spooktacular good time. Here’s just a sampling:
Carowinds has again transformed into Scarowinds, their yearly terrifying adventure. Prices start at $38.99, and the park is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through October 31st.
The Geek Gala Monster Mash will be held this Saturday, the 24th, at The Big Chill on E. Morehead Street. This year’s theme is classic monsters, and entertainment includes a talent show, a costume contest, and a short film fest, as well as performances by sketch comedy troupe Robot Johnson, Victorian chamber metal artist Valentine Wolf, and Nerd-vana Burlesque.
Also this Saturday is the Kiss 95.1 Grave Diggers Ball. Headliners this year are Flo Rida and Omi.
If NoDa is your scene, head to Chop Shop’s Glitterati Halloween Ball. Actually held on Halloween, the ball is a theatrical costume dance party featuring Charlotte’s best DJ’s, artists and performers.
The NC Music Factory is the site of a Halloween Bar Crawl on the 31st hosted by Awesome Random Adventures. Tickets are $15, and area bars are expected to be offering great drink specials all night.
Near the neighborhoods around SouthPark or SouthEnd? Head to Brazwells on Montford on Halloween. Among the fun, you’ll find a costume contest, $2.50 Coors Light, $4 Witches Brew drinks, $5 Bloody Brain shots, brunch served until 3pm, and a live DJ at 11pm!
Plaza Midwood the neighborhood for you? Don’t miss out on Snug Harbor’s 9th Annual Haunted Harbor. Performers include Dap City (RBTS Win X Rapper Shane), Poontanglers, JaggerMouth, Patabamba, Human Pippi Armstrong, Natural Causes, and Patois Counselors, and tickets are just $10.
And if you’re among those with kids, you’ll be happy to know that Charlotte ranked as the 11th best city in the country for trick-or-treating by Zillow.com. Based on data about where kids can get the most candy, in the quickest amount of time, and the safest areas, Myers Park, Foxcroft, Montibello, Wendover-Sedgewood, and Providence Plantation were the top neighborhoods in Charlotte.
No matter how you celebrate, I hope you have a hauntingly great time!
