If you followed my energy efficient home renovation a couple years back, you know that solar energy is something I value in a house. That’s why I was really excited to see that a whole community of solar-powered homes is coming to Cotswold!
Chelsea Building Group is constructing the solar community, which will be called ReAlta. The builder’s philosophy, as stated on the About page of the ReAlta website, is: “We believe in making houses that live as well as they look, that are as solid behind the walls as they are beautiful on the outside.”
The community will be comprised of 24 homes equipped with compact solar panels and located on Rama Road, between Charing Place and Riviere Drive in Cotswold. ReAlta will be the first solar community in the Charlotte area.
ReAlta offers five open floor plans, ranging in size from 2,350 to 3,980 square feet. According the the ReAlta website, the homes offer an industry-leading HERS (Home Efficiency Ratings) rating. In addition to the low-profile solar panels, the homes will include high-end finishes, energy-efficient appliances, gourmet European kitchen design, luxury baths, as well as full digital control of lighting, HVAC, security and entertainment. Some of the floor plans include roof decks and covered outdoor living areas; others include the master down. Pricing for the homes is slated between $459,000 to $598,000.
This solar community is expected to be finished in late November. If you’re interested, give me a call and let’s check out the area together!
