Digging Deep Into Dilworth

Digging Deep Into Dilworth

dilworth neighborhood charlotte details from realtor cassie cunninghamIf you’re just getting to know the Dilworth area, an overview of the history – from its start as a streetcar suburb to its lovely bungalow-style homes – can be found on the Dilworth neighborhood page of my site. But if you’re familiar with the area and you’re ready to get into “the know,” I’ve got you covered here!

If you’ve been a regular reader of my blog, you know I love good food and good deals. Luckily, Dilworth has spots to cover each of those!

Fiamma is an amazing Italian restaurant on Park Road. Their menu features all the finest tastes of Tuscany around! If you’re looking for a fine dining experience, Bonterra is a Dilworth spot that is not to be missed! The story of the building in which they’re located is truly a great one, and their menu is filled with some fantastic culinary creations.

If you’re looking for something a bit more casual, be sure to check out Ru San’s, Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar, JJ’s Red Hots, Mayobird, and Comet Grill. Ru San’s is a great sushi bar in the same shopping center as Fiamma; their all-you-can-eat lunch buffet is out of this world! Bad Daddy’s is known for using a mix of local and artisanal ingredients to make the most amazing burger you’ve ever had. JJ’s Red Hots is a hot dog joint with something for everyone. There’s even a salmon dog for the pescaterians amongst us! Mayobird is a funky, hip cafe in the old Caribou Coffee spot on East Blvd that serves a variety of chicken salad sandwiches. And Comet Grill is a laid-back little spot in Dilworth Crossing Shopping Center with good bar food and nightly live bands.

The shopping in Dilworth is a bit eclectic and mainly found on East Blvd. Berrybrook Farm is a tiny little spot for supplements & holistic nutritional items, but they also offer juice, smoothies & deli eats. If consignment stores are your thing, there are a couple you need to try in Dilworth! Sweet Repeats is an upscale consignment store, dedicated mainly to designer brands. Summerbird is also an upscale consignment shop, but they also feature art and jewelry from local artisans. Paper Skyscraper is a MUST for anyone shopping in Dilworth, too! This funky shop features fun stationery and cards as well as tchotchkes and gifts.

And any post about Dilworth would be remiss if it didn’t mention Freedom Park. Freedom Park is a 98-acre park located between Dilworth and Myers Park and centered on a 7-acre lake. With its paved trails, tennis and volleyball courts, athletic fields and playground equipment, Freedom Park truly has something for everyone!
