Spring is in the air…FINALLY! Some of the best things about spring in Charlotte are the festivals. Here’s a run-down of a few spring festivals I’m looking forward to:
- Kings Drive Art Walk
April 26 & 27 – Little Creek Greenway
Held along the Sugar Creek Greenway, the natural waterway between East Morehead Street and Pearle Street Bridge along Kings Drive, this event focuses on fine and emerging artists. - Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival
May 10 – Symphony Park at SouthPark Mall
Over 75,000 beer and bourbon lovers have participated in this fantastic event over the last six years. It sells out every year, and this year’s festival is sure to be the same. Plans are for 40 bourbons and 60 beers on tap, BBQ galore, great live music. Bonus? FREE PARKING! - 600 Festival
May 9 through 24 – Around Charlotte
The 600 Festival celebrates the May races at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and this year is its 30th anniversary! The 600 Festival will be adding three new events to its roster this year including Movies on the Campus in conjunction with the Village Jiggy Jam in Kannapolis, a hauler parade in conjunction with Union Street Live in downtown Concord and the “Little 600” race at the GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville. In addition, it will continue to produce its spotlight event, Coca-Cola Speed Street presented by Chevrolet, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year. The best part? All four events are free!
