Many of Charlotte’s neighborhood names are as famous as the city itself. Tucked away within those lesser-known neighborhoods, though, are some true delights, such as the Cherry neighborhood.
Cherry is one of Charlotte’s top walkable neighborhoods, with a Walk Score of 86. The neighborhood is bordered by S. Kings Drive & Queens Road. It is within walking distance to the Sugar Creek greenway and the Metropolitan, which has stores, restaurants and condos. Nestled between Myers park and Dilworth, and just outside of downtown Charlotte, this traditional neighborhood can’t help but be benefitted by its proximity to all of the neighborhoods with much higher price tags.
The neighborhood was also recently chosen by Rebuilding America and Carter’s Kids to receive a beatification makeover. Homes in the area received critical home repairs, and the volunteers built a new customized playground at Cherry Park.
