Meet Dilworth, Where Community Meets Tradition

Meet Dilworth, Where Community Meets Tradition
October 11, 2012 Cassee Cunningham

Dilworth began as Charlotte’s first streetcar suburb, established by Edward Dilworth Latta in the 1890s.  After slowly declining for a while, the area has seen a tremendous regrowth over the last 10 to 15 years.  And its proximity to Uptown makes it a hotspot and is helping its property values immensely.

The streets of Dilworth offer dignified, mature oak trees, as well as community-friendly sidewalks.  The homes are primarily bungalows with the occasional Queen Anne and Colonial Revival style homes in the mix.

East Boulevard is the main road through the neighborhood, but the area’s access to the light rail line make it a cinch to get to other areas of town. East Boulevard itself is lined with restaurants, offices and shops, and the housing-turned-commercial vibe of the area make it truly unique.

Does Dilworth sound like your ideal neighborhood?  Then you’ll need to act fast – there is a really low inventory of for sale homes in Dilworth, and they don’t stay on the market long!
