As recently reported by The Charlotte Observer, the Charlotte real estate market is ranked 3rd in the country, behind only Dallas/Fort Worth and Austin.
The ranking was first released in a report by the Urban Land Institute and PwC, and it is a projection for 2016.
So what launched Charlotte to the #3 spot this year (up from #7 last year)? According to the report, it’s the area’s booming population, growing economy and strong construction sector. The cost of living also factored in to the rise, as it did for other secondary markets; it’s much more reasonable to live here than in major metropolitan areas like Manhattan, DC, Chicago, LA, and Boston, all of which fell in the rankings.
Charlotte’s ranking also puts us ahead of our southeast “competitors” – Atlanta, Raleigh, Durham, Charleston, and Nashville.
