My lovely “Ghost Writer” Stephanie Nelson and I sometimes have to punch each other in the head (not literally) to get ideas going at the beginning of each week. This week, though, I actually had a lot of ideas around what to write about: interest rates, exciting progress on my energy efficient home renovation, a story on staging. What took the prize? Staging.
It is difficult sometimes to stress the importance of staging with a seller. I can’t stress it enough, and I sometimes actually push the issue a bit. Often, it may even be a bit more than a seller anticipates.
But good staging entices the senses. It wakes up the imagination of the potential buyer. It highlights the home’s strengths and downplays the not-so-strong points. It makes the home inviting to potential buyers. I’m here to tell you it’s worth every penny, but don’t take my word for it. See it for yourself…
The dramatic energy shift that happens when a house transforms into a home is rarely captured on film. Fortunately, I caught my beautiful listing at 3721 Oakwood Avenue in NODA in pictures, going from unstaged to staged. A couple of before and after shots are posted here.
