Yes, it’s been cold even though it’s technically spring. Yes, we all feel a little betrayed by a certain groundhog. But that spring feeling is coming, and with it comes some awesome spring festivals in Charlotte! Here’s a run-down of some I’m looking forward to:

First Friday Spring Arts Market
April 5 – Atherton Mill and Market
With a variety of local artists, some of the market’s regular vendors, food from the Roots.Good.Food truck, and music by local musician and artist Sy Arden, the evening promises to be fun for all! -
Kings Drive Art Walk
April 27 & 28 – Little Creek Greenway
Held along the Sugar Creek Greenway, a newly reclaimed natural waterway between East Morehead Street and Pearle Street Bridget along Kings Drive, this event focuses on fine and emerging artists. -
Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival
May 11 – Symphony Park at SouthPark Mall
Over 58,000 beer and bourbon lovers have participated over the last five years and this year is sure to be another SELL OUT! There will be 40 bourbons and 60 beers on tap, BBQ galore, great live music and FREE PARKING!

Know Your Farms Tour
May 11 & 12
The Charlotte Area Farm Tour takes place from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. both days and highlights more than 20 local farms, including fruit and vegetable growers, livestock producers, dairy farms, and even an alpaca farm! With new farms and a new season, even veteran tour-goers will still have a lot to see. -
Food Lion Speed Street
May 23 through 25 – Uptown Charlotte
Full details have yet to be announced, but this has been a perennial favorite for years in Charlotte. Just like past Speed Streets, this year is sure to be amazing with great bands, dynamic exhibits, appearances by NASCAR celebrities and more. And best? It’s FREE!
