Charlotte Fall Festivals

Charlotte Fall Festivals
September 30, 2019 Allison Andrews

Aaahhh! Fall in Charlotte! Pumpkin spice, chili nights and lots of fall festivals to keep you busy every weekend!!  Some of the most popular are just beyond Charlotte at US National Whitewater Center, Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens or even Concord for the Renaissance Festival but you don’t have to leave the city limits if you don’t want to!

Whether you are looking for an overall festival experience, a laid back Saturday afternoon, something for the kids or something to expand your horizons, Charlotte has it all. Here are a few fun fall festivals (say that 10 times really fast) to add to your calendar.

The annual Festival in the Heights

  • Saturday October 5
  • 700 Block Clement Avenue
  • 5pm-9:30pm

Festival in the Heights is an outdoor gathering put on by the Country Club Heights Neighborhood Association. I call it Hoodstock, cause it’s in my neighborhood. In fact, I am happy to be one of the sponsors of this great event! There’s free BBQ, hot dogs (and veggie dogs), and a bounce house for kids. Musicians like Josh Daniel and Lucinda Lucas will be playing some tunes. Plus there will be lots of vendors — you know I’m a sucker for local businesses! Proceeds go to our three local CMS schools: Shamrock Gardens Elementary, Eastway Middle and Garinger High.

North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue Howl-O-Ween at Birdsong Brewing Co.

  • October 21
  • Birdsong Brewing Company
  • 4pm-7pm

A fun way to chill on a Saturday. Human costume contests($10 to compete), best dog team in costume (may have more than two dogs and all must be in costume), plus there will be adoptable dogs on site!

Charlotte Kidsfest

  • Oct. 5
  • UNC Charlotte, 9100 Robert D. Snyder Road. Free.
  • 11 a.m.-4 p.m

This is not where you want to go if you want to chill! This fest is full of artistic, creative and playful experiences designed to educate and inspire (and run your kids crazy)! Rest for a moment to catch a performer or grab a bite from a food truck. Bonus: young children are likely to need a nap after this festival.

Hola Charlotte Festival

  • Oct. 12
  • Uptown Charlotte, N. Tryon St. and W. 6th St. Free!
  • Noon-7 p.m

A celebration of all things Latin! Latin American Cultural Village, food, music, artists, performances, Zumba and fashion displays.

The Queen City loves a good party and once again delivers up a new season of fun. This list is just the tip of the iceberg! Charlotte Parent has a massive list for you to check out! Happy Fall!
