Last September, I posted about the groundbreaking of the new park in First Ward, a project being undertaken by Levine Properties. Now, an affiliate of Levine Properties recently purchased 2 acres of land at the corner of North Brevard and Sixth streets.
The property is currently used as surface parking. This brings the land holdings of Levine Properties in First Ward to approximately 26 acres.
As I brought to you in my previous post, plans for the redevelopment of this property and surrounding land include new offices, shops, residences and hotels, in addition to the park. It’s now been announced that Hilton Worldwide has signed a letter of intent with Levine Properties to be one of those hotels, choosing Charlotte as a spot to launch its new Canopy brand. According to a news release, the Canopy brand is described as less capital-intensive in its design and aimed at delivering “an energizing, comfortable stay with more included value.”
This development, along with the other development projects around Uptown, are sure to raise property values. Be ahead of the curve! Give me a shout and let me help you find your Uptown dream home!
