Every Tuesday night, the Common Market in Plaza Midwood becomes a cyclist’s Mecca. That’s because at 8pm, Center City Charlotte’s largest recurring group bike ride, the Plaza Midwood Tuesday Night Ride, leaves from there.
The group begins to form around 7:30pm. These fun, social rides start at 8pm and last 1-2 hours; the distance is usually 15 miles or less. All types of bikes are suitable for the ride, and all level cyclists are welcome. Routes are easy to moderate, depending on how hilly they are. Headlights and tail lights and helmets are required for all cyclists.
Routes change each week, and they include stops at local businesses. These stops allow the cyclists to regroup and refuel, but also to get to know businesses in the area that are bike-friendly and support the cycling community.
Interested in joining the ride? The group is open, so all you have to do is show up before 8pm at the Common Market in Plaza Midwood with your bike, your helmet and your light!
