SouthEnd – History Meets Modernity

SouthEnd – History Meets Modernity
September 14, 2012 Cassee Cunningham

Charlotte’s historic SouthEnd truly has a lot to offer.  From gallery crawls to food truck rallys to any kind of food you could want, you can find it here!

The first Friday of every month brings the area’s gallery crawl.  Home to the largest number of galleries in Charlotte, including the Gil Gallery, Lark & Key Gallery, Hidell Brooks Gallery, Apostrophe Lounge, Ciel Gallery and the Elder Art Gallery, the crawl presents unique paintings, sculpture, jewelry, mosaics, plus many galleries offer live music and refreshments!

SouthEnd’s Food Truck Friday takes place every week from 5pm to 9pm in the lot at corner of Camden Road & Park Avenue.  If you’d like, alcohol can be purchased from Common Market or Phat Burrito, brought unopened to the Food Trucks and consumed in this lot.

In addition to the fabulous food truck finds offered on Fridays, SouthEnd presents an abundance of restaurant choices.  At Atherton Mill Market, there’s Icehouse, Vin Master, Big Ben’s British Pub and Zucca’s Pizza Tavern.  Across the street, you’ll find Mr K’s Soft Ice Cream serving up great burgers, milkshakes and ice cream. The Liberty is Charlotte’s first gastropub and has been named Charlotte’s best burger by The Charlotte Observer. Common Market and Phat Burrito are also nearby offering a quick bite to eat, great atmosphere and some fantastic beverage options.

Get the best of SouthEnd by living there, too!  Check out our SouthEnd listings!
