This year, July 4th celebrations in Charlotte start early! Need to find some place (or places) to celebrate? Here are a few ideas…
On Tuesday, July 2nd, you can hit the Jack in the Box Summer Shootout & Fireworks Extravaganza at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Be sure to catch the Little Luggies Power Wheel Races!
July 3rd brings us the “Celebrate America” concert of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra at Symphony Park at Southpark as well as Day 1 of the U.S. National Whitewater Coca-Cola Fourth of July Festival. At the whitewater center, you can take advantage of their usual fun activities, like rafting and the rock wall, plus special activities like a cornhole tournament and listening to great bands.
And of course July 4th is a big day! There’s Day 2 of the U.S. Whitewater Coca-Cola Fourth of July Festival, WBT Skyshow 2013 fireworks display after the Charlotte Knights game at Knights Stadiuml and the Novant Health July 4th Spectacular at Memorial Stadium in Uptown. If you’re headed to the WBT Skyshow, the stadium lot opens at 3pm for tailgating, the game starts at 7:15pm and the fireworks take place immediately after the game. If the Novant Health July 4th Spectacular turns out to be your choice, gates open at 5:30pm, family-friendly activities will take place from 6pm to 9pm, and the fireworks show starts at 9:30pm.
To extend your fun, Carowinds’ “Nights of Fire” fireworks celebration starts on July 4th and will be presented nightly through August 11th.
No matter what your choice, be sure to stay safe and celebrate responsibly. Have a great time!
