All of us have stress. Family. Work. Traffic. In Charlotte, we’re lucky enough to have yoga studios abounding to help us deal, though. Here are a few of my faves, most located in walkable neighborhoods, giving you an excuse to skip that traffic stressor.
Be Yoga
Be Yoga has locations in Dilworth on East Blvd and near Carmel on Pineville Matthews Road. Their facilities and teachers emphasize taking care of the whole you – mind, body and spirit – and they focus on being a place where you are welcome, no matter your yoga level.
Charlotte Yoga
Charlotte Yoga, located near the intersection of Park and Woodlawn, has long been a mainstay in the city’s yoga scene. Much of their schedule is around hot yoga and power yoga classes, good if you want to sweat out your stress!
NoDa Yoga
While NoDa Yoga bills itself as a vinyasa yoga studio, they seem to have something for everyone. They offer classes in basics, $6 Karma classes, prenatal and flow.
Yoga One
According to the Yoga One website, they teach physically challenging classes for all levels in a supportive, non-competitive atmosphere to promote flexibility, strength, and balance in your body. Just be aware – most classes are heated.
Okra
I first mentioned Okra in the post about Charlotte coffee shops. And Okra, located in Plaza Midwood, really does have it all! In addition to tea/coffee and yoga, they also offer massage services. Their yoga classes run the gamut, so you’re sure to find one you like – basics, heated, deep stretch, mixed level and karma classes are all available!
