Small Business Saturday, an annual event sponsored by American Express, is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses across the country, and is celebrated every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year, that’s November 30th.
If you’re a regular reader, you know small, local businesses are near and dear to my heart. You also know that there are a ton of these shops around Charlotte. So here’s a short list of spots to shop on Small Business Saturday in Charlotte.

Pura Vida Worldly Art – Located in NoDa, this gift store and art gallery promotes fair trade and international art and cultures, carrying items from over 40 countries.

Yarnhouse – Also in NoDa, this place is the hookup if you’re a knitter or know one! They offer wide array of colorful yarns in all weights and styles, as well as classes and a space to get or give advice.

Custom – Need a great piece of jewelry? Custom in NoDa is your go-to. From everyday to eclectic pieces, they offer design as well as repair services.

The Boulevard at South End – This great little spot has it all – clothing, accessories, gifts, decor and more!

Beadlush – This great shop recently relocated across the street from their former location in Plaza Midwood. Now located at 1212 The Plaza, in a former church, they now offer not just beads and beading classes, but wares from other vendors that include ready-made jewelry, cloth, antique and vintage items and more!

Slate Interiors – Another Plaza Midwood favorite, Slate represents nearly 90 merchants and artists. This is a destination shop for exceptional design finds, and they carry a daily-changing collection of original art, furniture, lighting, and accessories.
