Where’s the Hippest Spot in Charlotte?

Where’s the Hippest Spot in Charlotte?

gawker logoUrban Dictionary defines hipsters as “a subculture of men and women typically in their 20’s and 30’s that value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence, and witty banter.”  And apparently, if this your your kind of person, Plaza Midwood and NoDa are the spots in Charlotte to find them, according to Gawker.com!

Gawker recently ran a poll of its readers to find major cities’ versions of Williamsburg and Bushwick, two of NYC’s hippest neighborhoods.  (Gawker labels Williamsburg as “the global icon of hipness” and Bushwick as “the next Williamsburg”.)  The results of the poll put Plaza Midwood and NoDa in a tie for Charlotte’s hippest neighborhoods.

The argument can be made that NoDa was hip before hipsters were even “a thing” with its art crawls, brew pubs and mix of retail and restaurants.  Plaza Midwood, being home to Central Avenue’s mix of vintage stores, eclectic restaurants and tattoo parlors, definitely gets some hipster street cred.  But the revamped bungalows of the neighborhood add to the hip vibe, too.

Are you a hipster or hipster-like?  Do you crave being in the hippest spot in Charlotte?  Let’s get you to NoDa or Plaza Midwood stat!  Give me a call to take a peek at the awesome listings in these areas!
