Have a Vintage Holiday…and a Few Updates
November 20, 2014 Cassee Cunningham

vintage holiday shopping in Charlotte NCLet’s start with a couple of updates on recents posts…

Remember the before and after listing 421 Lyttleton?  Well, that listing received multiple offers within 48 hours of going on the market.  It is under contract and over list price. I’m so happy for my sellers.

Also, Olde Mecklenburg Brewery is in the running for Best Brewery Tour. Vote for them if you agree.  This was brought to my attention by the lovely Natasha who works at Savvy & OMB.

And now for the vintage stuff…

I have had so much fun shopping vintage lately.  I use vintage pieces in my design work, so I’m always on the lookout.  However, I went to a vintage pop-up market this weekend, and found some fantastic things for holiday gifts.  Whether you were born in the 80s or the 20s, there is something at vintage markets that sparks a fond memory or strikes a childhood cord.  There’s everything from different eras of Barbie and tin toys to funky mixing bowls.  Oh, and the clothes!  There are always local artists sprinkled throughout these markets selling amazing original jewelry and handmade goods.

Shopping Vintage is a great way to keep local dollars hyper-local, support local artists and vendors, and keep something older and precious out of the landfill.  Check out the metal soft drink signs I scored at the Metrolina vintage and antique show.  There is another show coming up before Christmas on December 4th through 7th.  It’s so worth a look.

I would love to see pictures of fun vintage finds!  Please feel free to share via Facebook.

Happy hunting!
