Queen City Caffeination – Local Coffee Shops in Charlotte

Queen City Caffeination – Local Coffee Shops in Charlotte
June 23, 2016 Cassee Cunningham

Local Coffee Shops in Charlotte realtor cassie cunninghamSo last week, I talked about local spots to get great donuts in Charlotte. And what goes better with donuts than coffee?!?!

I last touched on the topic of local coffee shops in Charlotte in January 2013. I’m sure we can all agree that the coffee scene in Charlotte has grown since then, though I still love all the spots I talked about in that post. Here are a few of my new faves:

Julia’s Cafe & Books
Julia’s Café & Books is a fundraising division of Habitat for Humanity Charlotte, located right next to the Habitat ReStore on Wendover Road where the Cotswold, Oakhurst and Echo Hills neighborhoods meet. This spot was named after Julia Maulden, Habitat Charlotte’s first Executive Director, and a pioneering public servant – you just can’t beat that.

Not Just Coffee
This local coffee shop got its start in a small corner of Area 15 in Optimist Park, but their popularity made it so they soon outgrew the space. They now have two locations – one in 4th Ward at 7th Street Market and in SouthEnd at Atherton Mill and Market.

Sunflour Baking Company
This is a not-to-miss spot, especially if you want a little nosh with your coffee. They have locations in Dilworth and Elizabeth, and their food and coffees are delicious!

Mugs
Nestled between SouthPark, Myers Park and Barclay Downs, this spacious spot is great for a meeting or just hanging out with a friend or two. It doesn’t hurt that they serve milkshakes on top of traditional teas and coffee drinks.

FABO
Located in Quail Corners, this hip spot offers not just coffee and tea, but also wine & light fare against a contemporary backdrop of art by local artists, which is all for sale.
