Nothing Like a Fine Wine…Bar

Nothing Like a Fine Wine…Bar
January 31, 2013 Cassee Cunningham

For many, the decision on where to live often involves also looking at the social life afforded by the area.  A great wine bar, especially one that offers a wide variety of wines at great price points, can offer that social outlet and be indicative of a great neighborhood!  Take these Charlotte finds, for example…

The Wooden Vine Wine Bar and Bistro
Located uptown, Wooden Vine boasts over 30 wines available by the glass at a multitude of price points.  The cool, cozy atmosphere provides the perfect spot to chill with friends, and the tapas menu offers great complements to your wine.

Dean & Deluca Wine Room
Tucked in Phillips Place, near SouthPark Mall, the Dean & Deluca Wine Room is the perfect place to hang with friends, relax and enjoy wonderful wines and food. They offer more than 70 different wines by the glass and 14 wine flight tastings.

The Wine Shop at Foxcroft
Another gem of a wine spot near the SouthPark area, The Wine Shop brings you wines that no one else in Charlotte has, 200 wines priced under $10 and knowledgeable staff members that are eager to help you!

Vin Master
Atherton Mills in SouthEnd is home to Vin Master.  Choose from over 100 wines and relax in their urban loft.  Or, if it’s a nice day (like so many in Charlotte are), you can grab a seat on the patio and enjoy views of uptown and SouthEnd while you sip!

Dolce Vita Wine Bar
Nestled in NoDa, Dolce Vita offers a wide variety of wines from all over the world.  Prices range from $6-10 for a glass and $10-200+ for a bottle.  And just to keep things fun and interesting, the wine list is always changing and now includes sake!

Bond Street Wines
Located in Eastover, at Providence Rd and Fenton Place near the Manor Theatre, their website says wine is “a work of tradition that brings people together for special occasions and provides everyday enjoyment at all levels of sophistication.”  They offer excellent wines and direct pricing, so every customer gets great value.

Petit Philippe
This small, locally-owned and operated tasting room on Selwyn is also a wine and chocolate retail store. They offer a variety of wines from California, the Pacific Northwest, France and other European wine regions, as well as artisan chocolates made in-house.

Gallery Twenty Two
When you hit Gallery Twenty Two, you’re not just getting a great glass of wine.  This Plaza Midwood hot spot also boasts constantly rotating artwork from local artists that keeps its guests coming back.  Definitely worth checking out!
