In a recent article, Money Magazine put together its list of Best Big City Bargains. Guess which city topped the list. That’s right…It was Charlotte!
According to the article, the folks at Money “ranked places with over 500,000 in population on housing affordability, economic strength, home price forecasts, and livability using data from NeighborhoodScout, OnBoard Informatics, and CoreLogic. Then [they] looked for promising, well-priced neighborhoods in [their] top 10 locales.”
Charlotte, as a whole, has the following stats listed in the article:
- Population: 777,310
- Median Home Price: $164,100
- Average Property Tax: $2450
- Median Family Income: $63,500
- Projected Five-Year Job Growth: 6.5%
Of the Charlotte neighborhoods chosen as promising and well-priced, Plaza Midwood topped the list. Features of Plaza Midwood highlighted included its proximity to Uptown Charlotte, its bike-friendliness, it’s eclectic mix of “the gritty and the pretty,” and its year-round calendar of public events.
