Charlotte Breweries Are In The News Again

Charlotte Breweries Are In The News Again
November 13, 2014 Cassee Cunningham

Charlotte BreweriesI love it when I see news about Charlotte breweries!  We’ve got great staples like NoDa Brewing Company, Triple C Brewing Co, The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, Four Friends Brewing, Birdsong Brewing, and Heist Brewery.  This month, Charlotte welcomed Sycamore Brewing to the scene.  And in the last couple weeks, even more news has broken about the Charlotte brewery scene…

  • According to an article in the Charlotte Business Journal, Legion Brewing has signed a lease for the Brodt Music Co Building in Plaza Midwood.  Located on Commonwealth between Pecan and The Plaza, plans call for onsite brewing, a taproom and a patio. Opening is slated for 2015.
  • Also slated for a 2015 opening is Red Clay Ciderworks.  Red Clay will be the first local cidery to open in Charlotte, with a 10,000 square foot location on Clanton Road in SouthEnd.  All of Red Clay’s ciders will be made with locally-sourced apples, and the company will have five core cider lines.
  • Last, but certainly not least: A huge congratulations to the great folks at NoDa Brewing!  Plans for their expansion have just been announced.  The new location will be at 2921 N. Tryon Street, just over a mile from its current location on North Davidson Street.  The current location will be kept as a specialty beer shop.  The new location will have an outdoor area and a taproom three times larger than the current one, and food truck partnerships will continue to be part of the company’s charm.
